Friday, September 28th


Reminders:
  • Please bring in information about Switzerland to help with our International Day display!
  • We need one more volunteer for our field trip!
  • If needed, uniforms must be ordered before September 30th! Winter uniforms must be worn after the Thanksgiving weekend!

Inquiry into Language 
We had our first show and tell for the letter T. The students brought in items such as, telephone, train, and table!





  
Math 
I set out pictures of trees with numbers 1-10 on it, there were leaves on the tables that had corresponding numbers, that were mixed up. The students worked together to sort the leaves!









French

Daily five 
Today we listened to Mrs. Hayward read a story called "Stolen Words". The students enjoyed listening to Mrs. Hayward read, and looking at the pictures. The students also worked on tracing and writing their names!




Inquiry into Who We Are 
We talked about washing our hands, and the different steps to take in order to make sure they are properly washed. The students then were given a page with different pictures that shows the steps, and they were to colour it in.

Reminders:
  •  Orange Shirt Day is tomorrow! Wear an orange shirt (that is not the Kappa house shirt), and any pants you want! If your child is not wearing an orange shirt, they must be in full uniform!
  • Please bring stuff to start our International Day presentation!
  • We need 2 more volunteers for our field trip to Chudleigh's apple farm!

Gym
We had the Terry Fox Run today! The students had a lot of fun running around the track!

Inquiry into Language 
Today the students listed words that begin with T. They then sang the song of the week, as well as watched Olive and the Rhyme Rescue Crew's video on the letter T. After that, the students were given a sheet with different letters, they were instructed to colour the letter T, and then trace it if they finished early.

Orange Shirt Day Activity
Mrs. Hayward is creating a chain link in order to show solidarity for those that were in the residential schools. Each child was given a orange strip of paper to decorate.



Me Bags
We had our final Me Bag presentation today! I am so proud of all of the students, and how they presented their items!

Inquiry into Who We Are 
Today, the students named foods that were healthy and unhealthy. While they were listing off the foods, I wrote them on a chart for the students to see.
